Andrey Blokhin and Yegor Kuznetsov, members of Recycle, the Krasnodar Art Group, started a collaboration with the Dior brand. As part of the collaboration with the Dior brand, Andrey Blokhin and Yegor Kuznetsov, members of Recycle, the Krasnodar Art Group, created the design of two Lady Dior handbags.
As the artist Andrey Blokhin noted, Recycle had previously collaborated with the Dior brand. For example, in 2011 the Pushkin Museum hosted the exhibition УDior: Under the Sign of ArtФ. There, Russian artists presented an art object in the form of a sculpture of a classic Lady Dior Bag.
УAt the end of last year, representatives of the brand approached the Recycle Group and asked for a new, fifth, edition of the Lady Dior handbag. We wanted it to be some kind of computer glitch sending us to modern digital madness. In other words, so that the bag no longer looks like a real thing, but a materialized digital imageФ, the artist, Andrey Blokhin, said.
He also added that the bags will be released in limited quantity, but did not say their certain number. They are expected to go on sale before the end of this year.
The Recycle Art Group was created in Krasnodar in 2008 by graduates of the Art and Industry Academy of the Krasnodar State Institute of Culture, Andrey Blokhin and Yegor Kuznetsov. In 2010, the artists became laureates of the Kandinskiy Prize. Currently, they live and work in Paris and Krasnodar, collaborate with the following galleries: Triumph (Moscow), Galerie Suzanne Tarasievе, (Paris), and Gazelli Art House (London).
